Howie58
Greetings: We appear to be mild favorites. Statistically, our shots against is among the best in the league and it shows against the Hawks. Our PP% is a lot better: https://www.sportsbettingdime.com/nhl/odds/2019102512-nhl-phi-chi/ The goalie matchup should be interesting. Crawford is sub .900; Lehner is .943 and sub 2.0 GAA. I read that the Moose may be rewarded with a start after his performance against the Knights. We shall see.

I think it's fair because the team has to ride any momentum it can get. But still, Hart's got to get back on track asap. I really don't blame any of the Dallas goals on him... at least not like you could easily blame so many of the Edmonton goals on him. Still... you want to see him get his head right and play like he can. He wasn't.
OccamsRazor
@brelic We discussed this somewhere around here can't remember which thread so i put it here why not. For what it's worth...per Eklund ofcourse... As a side-note, I recently learned the Flyers and Stars discussed a Benn/Voracek deal in the summer.... The Stars had to be asking for something else that was a bridge too far. That's a fair trade straight up on paper, but Benn's their captain and has much better possession metrics and an actual positive plus/minus. Jake/Myers? Jake/Ghost? Jake/Frost? What in god's name were they asking for that was too rich for Fletch? or is Eklund just being Eklund?

Besides Benn is slightly more 1.25 mill more per season and an extra year than Jake. That and Benn is a LW too. They already have Giorux, Lindblom and JVR down the left side however you can move guys around and make it work. More like an Eklund wet dream... Might be hard to make the money work, but I would take Benn over Voracek for sure. I bet @King Knut is right that they were asking for something else as well. Or, you know, Eklund. brelic
Meh, I wouldn't trade Jake for Benn. In both cases, they've peaked for their careers and are on the decline. Benn is signed for more for longer. No thanks. To me that's a sideways move at best (Lucic for Neal kind of trade).

intheslot
Vigneault will use the same line combinations against Chicago that the team featured in the Vegas game. On Tuesday, after praising the other three forward lines from Monday's game, the head coach challenged the trio of Claude Giroux (0g, 4a), Voracek (2g, 2a) and James van Riemsdyk (0 points) to "figure it out" together. One of the things I like about this Coach ..

When Patrick is back and playing: Girioux - Couturier - Voracek JVR - Hayes - Konecny Lindblom - Patrick - Farabee (kids line) Raffl - Vorobyev - Laughton (Frost is the first up) Provorov - Niskanen Sanheim - Braun Ghost - Myers (Hagg) Hart Elliot That really is a legit lineup that could finally win a playoff series or two. OccamsRazor
Corey Crawford is out for a pre-morning skate workout, an indication Robin Lehner will be in net vs. Flyers.

One of the things I like about this Coach .. I like that he's holding them accountable, but I don't like that he's expecting a line of three wingers with no natural center to sort things out in three periods. They're the vets on this team and as such they should be able to do so... but even as vets, and even though G spent a few years at center (mostly his worst), I don't see this as AV "calling them out" so much as stating a fact. They'll need to sort it out. Maybe if all three of the other lines hadn't done quite well, he'd mix and match some more, but if 3/4 of your lines are clicking and the 4th is all talented vets, you gotta expect they're going to do so and I expect based on the stories of the last two days of tailored practices, it seems it's AV's intention to help them do so. I think they can figure it out. He isn't bad as a center just wasn't as good as he was on the wing. Still the rest of the team is playing fine I let those 3 figure it out. The worst part of it is that Giroux won't have much defensive help from his wingers. That's the part that concerns me most his wingers won't come back into their end unless it just to circle back towards the redline.

Just that it makes sense that it wouldn't all fall into place immediately. he's not bad at center (as evidenced by how many faceoffs he takes as a winger) but he hasn't done it for a while. As far as jake and jvr, that's part of figuring it out righ? their best chance may just be to either score quickly or cycle in the other end and win the possession game.
