TropicalFruitGirl26
Thanks HF... I've been using NHL Numbers, but will also go to this one to compare and contrast.Over time, I am sure one will become a favorite.

Sources: NHL contract specifics generally collected from NHL Numbers. http://www.spotrac.com/nhl/philadelphia-flyers/chris-pronger/Also, no NMC/NTC, 35+, or any other notes. AlaskaFlyerFan
Also, no NMC/NTC, 35+, or any other notes. Also, no info on players in the minors. Shows MDZ as a UFA at the end of the season rather than a RFA. This one scared me a little. The first time I looked at the Flyers roster, there were two Zac Rinaldos!! Even one is one too many!! TropicalFruitGirl26
Newest site said to replace CapGeek: http://www.generalfanager.com/ I've played around with this one....looks promising. I like how they have what picks each team has...not the order, that is obviously determined by how teams finish during the season and playoffs, but the actual picks held and from which teams they got them. jammer2
@hf101 I have to believe Konan is one of the d-men that is gonna get squeezed out as new D-men fill out the AHL roster.

What ever became of that NCAA defensemen we drafted a few years ago....think Ambrosa was his name, or something close...do we know anything about him, like when does he finish College? Will he turn pro and play for the Phantoms....is there room there...? Hard to believe we have given up on the kid without even a AHL appearance.....he must be on the way. jammer2
@OccamsRazor Don't know if you saw it....but Metzler had a nice column about our NCAA prospects and Amorsa was mentioned along with the others...think we have 6 or 7 of them right now. Troubling how he only appeared in 18 games as a freshman...geez, was he hurt or a healthy scratch? http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Bill-Meltzer/Flyers-Collegiate-Prospects-2014-15-Year-in-Review/45/68430 Edited May 17, 2015 by jammer2
flyercanuck
@jammer2 There was a guy on HF who was pretty high on Amorosa but I never understood what he was so high about. I'm not knocking the kid, but when you play 18 games and put up 5 points I just don't see much to hype.

Got a few good Dmen in front of him only one senior this past year and two other freshman he is fighting for minutes with not to mention Red Wings prospect James de Haas they (Clarkson University) have a young blueline. I imagine his minutes will pick up next season because he is the biggest of the freshman and he is suppose to be a good skater.
OccamsRazor
Troubling how he only appeared in 18 games as a freshman...geez, was he hurt or a healthy scratch? Like i said he was a freshman and he is projected to be a stay at home type so time will tell. But he is already 6-2 205 so he has that going for him. He has two more year to grow before they have to make a decision on him.

Not sure how big he was when we drafted him, but apparently, a growth spurt the last few years had him go from 5'9 to 6'1....nice to see!! TropicalFruitGirl26
I posted a question about good sites for NHL depth charts in the chat box, but thought it would be better in a thread so as not to clog the shout box with discussion on it, plus as a thread, it could serve as information to others who may be wondering the same thing either now or down the road. Anyways, I'd like some sites that the posters here use and trust as accurate, up to date, and just generally reliable on how NHL teams line up forwards, defensemen, etc....and maybe even what the depth of an organization is really like from the top line / top pairing guys down to the minor league prospects, and in what order (more or less) they rank. I've tried a few, rotoworld, roster resource, for example, but I keep finding errors in things such as players WAY out of positions (such as Antoine Roussel playing 1st line minutes while Jamie Benn, in the same position, playing 2nd line minutes), to other oddities such as Jason Spezza being listed as a RW only. This is frustrating to me. I know there is a wealth of information out there, and eventually, I will find it. But I am hoping some of you here can help shorten that journey for me, so I can focus on more fun stuff like actually seeing and then trying to forecast myself, how teams use or may use certain players based on accurate info. Also, like I said, this could help EVERYONE by having a single place where such info can be found. Thanks to all. Oh, and BTW, in case anyone was wondering, the above pic was taken from the Edmonton Journal. Not knocking them as they focus on the Oilers...but obviously, I would like sites that are more NHL encompassing. LINKS GATHERED SO FAR: http://www.eliteprospects.com As the name suggests, lots of info on prospects and a whole lot more RosterResource.com (EDIT: this site seems to have changed to a mostly MLB centric site. Leaving the link in case that changes again. I had to use the search feature and type in 'NHL' specifically to get anything about hockey) http://www.leftwinglock.com Starting lineups, goalies, team schedules, etc. Useful stuff of all kinds http://www.dobberhockey.com/frozenpool_last3gamelines.php Lots of tools for fantasy hockey fans, but also great place for anyone to compare players directly using stats and last three years accumulated stats http://www.dailyfaceoff.com Great for line combos, starting goalies, though sometimes they can lag, they usually are up to date https://goaliepost.com/ Goalie centric site https://www.hockey-reference.com/ Good for stats, from basic to advanced https://www.hockeydb.com/ Good for hockey stats (mostly the basic stats), but also for finding where a player has played, covering not only the NHL, but minors, juniors, and European leagues. A few other odds n ends as well. Good general information site. https://puckpedia.com/ Some more general hockey info...some tabs let you really get into specific categories for stats. Good amount of salary cap info as well. Edited June 3, 2022 by TropicalFruitGirl26 **UPDATED LINKS**
yave1964
@TropicalFruitGirl26 IMHO there is absolutely none better than eliteprospects.com for up to the minute rosters/transactions. Keep in mind, they have not only the NHL and AHL and other pro North American teams, but they also have the European teams as well so it takes five minutes to learn to navigate if you are not interested in that kind of thing. Halfway down on the left is a list of the NHL teams and right below that is the AHL clubs as well. Eliteprospects can be your friend, lol. That is the singly best for current rosters. As far as lines and starting goalies, none are better than dailyfaceoff.com for up to date info. Especially fantasy wise, if you have Grubauer and Holtby for instance, it gives up to date info on the starter, it also lets you know if Backstrom is bumped down a line or anything like that. Great site.
hf101
http://www.rosterresource.com/nhl-depth-charts/ and I also like http://leftwinglock.com/ for fantasy lines and starting goalies.
pilldoc
To add on to the info being listed, I also like / use: http://www.dobberhockey.com/frozenpool_last3gamelines.php A wealth of information at your fingertips. At times, I must admit, it seems like informational overload, but none the less, a very good site.
TropicalFruitGirl26
Wow guys, thanks. Some of these I've never even heard of, but show good promise. Keep'm coming. I will likely settle on just one (two if one specializes more on fantasy lines and another on prospects not yet in the NHL), but I think it may help others who perhaps are seeking the same and they will have several to choose from all in one place. Like, for example, take a look at the lines for the Flyers. If you didn't follow the Flyers regularly, you might come away with some goofy ideas for fantasy. But I love a lot of the other info. I don't think the line information is better/worse than other sites, though. Ultimately, the line combo thing is a little bit of a crap shoot.
