Commander Clueless
Looks like Hextall is your next GM. At least that's the rumour. Sounds like fun. I hope he keeps a goalie stick around and hacks other GM's legs if they stand too close to him at the draft. radoran
Frank Seravalli @DNFlyers 10m #Flyers have called a press conference for 11:30am to promote Ron Hextall to GM and Paul Holmgren to president.

brelic
Well this is interesting. Holmgren sounded like he wasn't ready to move on. So Snider is out now?
Commander Clueless
LOL....classic! Beat another GM if he doesn't make a trade Hexy wants. It's a great move. Hextall could potentially hold the NHL record for most fines incurred by an NHL GM by the time he retires. But seriously, I like this move for the Flyers. radoran
Well this is interesting. Holmgren sounded like he wasn't ready to move on. LOL - from five days ago Snider said the Flyers hired assisant GM Ron Hextall last year to be the GM someday, but Holmgren said he was not ready to relinquish the job. Holmgren is the one who hired Hextall.Holmgren also said he would give permission for Hextall to talk to another team if it wanted to pursue him as a GM. But he made it clear he hopes Hextall stays.Read more at http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/sports/flyers/Holmgren-returning-as-GM-Timonen-likely-returning.html#w3dFHHetCjdPkSPu.
Cheesesteak
Here's the only quote from Snider you need to know “It’s really Paul’s call,” Snider said. “All I have to do is endorse it. If I don’t agree with it, then we have a behind-closed-doors discussion.”

As long as they search him for concealed goalie sticks at the GM meetings everyone should be safe.

Poulin20
I cant wait for the next townhall to hear what he has to say, it was getting boring hearing, "I like our team" and having my hand crushed by Homer when I went to shake it.

flyercanuck
Well a lot of us have been hoping Homer moved on. Only time will tell if this is a move for the better, or worse, or lateral. So does this mean we don't need a big FA signing splash this summer?
