Mario99
if we are still here and great fans this kid Connor McDavid is the next real deal, but the way Mr. snider runs the Flyers we won't get a chance to draft him, the flyers always have to be competitive every year according to Ed, but to build a cup winner you need a chance to draft #1 overall and get lucky in a year that has a potential star player, this kid is compared to Sidney Crosby even whereas his # 87See highlites
flyercanuck
@Mario99 Buffalo has already started "building" toward drafting him. I'm sure they aren't the only ones. Philly isn't in contention with the talent they have. McDavid wears 97...the year he was born.

Ed Snider will NEVER allow this team to be bad enough to earn a #1 pick. That being said, I believe the true way to really build a highly successful franchise is through the draft and no leaning so heavily on free agents as the Flyers do. There are several franchises that have done this and are seeing the rewards starting to come to fruition. I think this approach applies in all major sports because of the salary caps that are now in place... with the exception of baseball. Even baseball you see teams like the Nationals and Pirates who build their core through the draft and minor league system. The bottom line is, as long as Ed Snider owns this team, we will never have that #1 pick. The year of Kane and JVR was the only shot and that was a fluke. blocker
McDavid is a pistol. 2 years down the road allows for some jockeying around to get a chance to draft him.
King Knut
We'd suck for two more seasons so we'd get the opportunity to lose the lottery and someone else would bet him anywayif we are still here and great fans this kid Connor McDavid is the next real deal, but the way Mr. snider runs the Flyers we won't get a chance to draft him, the flyers always have to be competitive every year according to Ed, but to build a cup winner you need a chance to draft #1 overall and get lucky in a year that has a potential star player, this kid is compared to Sidney Crosby even whereas his # 87See highliteshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOq0jJj6xX0&feature=youtube_gdata_player
