DaGreatGazoo
5 years. 23.5million. 4.7 per season. Holy **** Homer. So much for cap space.
Vincent05
I'm seeing 5/6 years @ 5mil per year. Another old guys taking Cap space again, when will he stop signing old guys.I was close 5/23.5 for 4.7mil per year. That means Gagne not coming back? DaGreatGazoo
No kidding. Way over cap now. See ya Coburn. Not sure weakening this blue line is smart. Guess we'll find out
AlaskaFlyerFan
Trade coming. I'm guessing Mez is leaving.
Jmdodgesrt4
By my figures they have 5 mil in space yet.
brelic
In one way, I've always loved Vinnie Lecavalier... but in another, here we go again shoving our guys out of position for an older vet.No doubt this makes us a better squad.
brelic
TSN is reporting 5 years, $22.5M, so $4.5M per.
jammer2
@Jmdodgesrt4 It just does not make sense, another older guy taking up cap space. He's regressed a few years in a row. Now we have to move a kid to wing to accomodate Vinny. No plan, no proper development for the kids.....this is sad.....
AlaskaFlyerFan
No link yet, by the Windsosr evening news just said, he's a Flyer. Not to happy about this, wonder what the tems were?I'm not ready to pass judgment on this yet. Obviously, there is a trade coming. Although I like Mez's game when he is healthy, I don't think we'll see that. If Homer can trade Mez for a prospect then I'll feel better about this signing.
ZeZel25
If true, stupid contract in every way. Buy out 2 guy's with bad contracts than turn around and give one right back. Really pi**es me off...
jammer2
@brelic That's not much of a "buy out" discount. Kinda knew this would happen with so many interested teams. The part that irks me, it shows no plan, and AGAIN...no faith for our youngsters to grow into a 2nd line center role.

FlyersFan4Life
why why why. HOMER NEEDS TO BE FIRED. We don't have a backup goalie yet. We don't have enough good d so lets go sign a high priced foward. lord wtf
Jmdodgesrt4
Sry guys but we needed someone with size down the middle. He fits the bill.

Cheesesteak
Where does he play? Would he work on LW with Giroux and Voracek?
ZeZel25
Sry guys but we needed someone with size down the middle. He fits the bill. What good is the size when you're too old to use it...He's on the downside of a career, that kind of cash contract could have been given to someone younger
DaGreatGazoo
Yeah. They need people to play on the blue line. They also need a scoring winger. And they also need another goalie. Look I don't hate Vinnie. I hate overpaying for players and then giving them NMC clauses so the team is hamstrung for years. Where do Schenn and Coots play? One of their untouchable centers is now a winger. And Shenn sucked on the wing last year.
JackStraw
Color me uninpressed. I always liked VL, but what's the point? Would rather see Schenn and Couts get more playing time. And personally I'd prefer Gags to Vinnie if it comes down to that.
