B21
All indications from Bylsma are that Crosby will center Kunitz and Dupuis and Martin will most likely be paired with Orpik. So who teams up with Malkin and Neal? Tangredi? Jeffrey? Maybe even Beau Bennett? Tangredi and Bennett certainly aren't lighting it up in WB-S though Bennett does have 23 points in 28 games and is one of the few + players on a bad team.Forwards:Kunitz / Crosby / DupuisNeal / Malkin / ???Cooke / Sutter / KennedyVitale / Adams / Glass...TangrediJeffreyDefence:Letang / NiskanenOrpik / MartinDepres / Engelland...LovejoyGoalie:FleuryVokoun
Podein25
I think medium/long-term it's Bennett, but I don't think he's ready. I think his AHL numbers are pretty good though, so you never know. He's definitely the kind of guy you want: RH sniper
flyercanuck
@B21 Let's see, you've got a center who likes to throw elbows, and a cheapshotting headhunter at LW, How about bringing in Martin Havlat to kick people? Honestly though, what the heck is with Tangredi?

Chance that Bennett impresses...at least the upside is there. Not to late to bring in one of those unsigned vets at a discount for one last Cup run. Mike Knuble, anyone? flyercanuck
@B21 I don't know. I thought for sure he'd be on the top line by now.
mojo1917
I was kinda hoping you could tell me.The talent is there with Tangredi, no question, is he JD Drewing ?I saw on i believe this very sight that Blysma's having an open competition for that spot and maybe even the checking center from the Staal deal might be (is it Sutter ?) given a shot.I think Kennedy starts the season there, and i guess you'll see how that shakes out, he's shown flashes of a scoring touch and then.... jammer2
@mojo1917 I'd say Bennet has the most pure talent, most upside of the guys mentioned. I'll never forget the first time I saw Tangredi, he went through the Spits whole team to score a highlight reel goal...for sure the talent his there, it's just a question of him getting comfortable I believe. B21
I'm thinking Kennedy unless Tangradi or Bennett impress...I think that mucks up the lines. Now a 4th liner moves up to the 3rd line and either Jeffrey or Tangredi moves onto the 4th line...not their role.Give Tangredi a shot I say - now or never for the kid. jammer2
@Polaris922 I agree, seems like Bylsma is the type of coach who will error on the side of caution and has a tendency to lean towards veterans...kinda like Pat Quinn in that regard...it's gonna be tough for him to deal with all the influx of the defensive youngsters coming, the vets will be gone. Just know the Pens have a roller coaster affair with developing wingers. They've had some great ones, given up on what would become great ones, and stuck with ones that would never be great. All teams do I know, but when you need someone for guys like Malkin and Crosby to feed, you have only so large a window of opportunity. That's why I wanted Parise so badly! Polaris922
Tangradi put on his Facebook page today that Bylsma told him he's on the second line with Malkin & Neal.

Vanflyer
Mike KnubleKnuble would be a PP specialist only. His tank looked pretty empty to me last year. Never the fleetest of feet, last year he looked to be skating in molasses.

Vanflyer
Yeah - I remembered seeing the Knuble debates among Flyers fans. With the Flyers current speed, they would blow by and it would be 3-2's / 2-1's all day long every time he was on the ice (unless of course you have a Couturier on your team, which you do not).
