Vanflyer
Shane Victorino signs a 3 year deal with Boston for 39 million (13m per season). While I respect how difficult pro-ball is, it is not nearly as difficult as pro-hockey. They play twice as many games as the NHL (but half the time is spent watching the grass grow). The difference is that baseball came up with a good CBA and extended it for 21 years. Also, they have an enormous tv contract looming (in the billions). If only the MBL could expand more teams into Canada, they could be like the NHL. hf101
@VanflyerI fully believe that expansion is the owners plan to recover their lost revenue caused by the lockout.
jammer2
@Vanflyer The big difference between baseball and hockey for me is the lack of physicality it MLB. Sure, you have the odd outfield collision, you have some home plate collisons....some 2nd base stuff breaking up a double play....but NHL players sacrafice their bodies WAAAAAY more than MLB guys.
