In many ways, I hope Detroit outbids Homer.

I don't mind missing an edit, but not in the second sentence of the article.
canoli
What does "anted" mean?I think that's when a player comes up really small in a key situation, eg. Bryzgalov really anted on that play.
Polaris922
What does "anted" mean? I don't mind missing an edit, but not in the second sentence of the article. It means to "ante up" like when you're playing poker and you make the initial minimum bet to play the hand. They "anted up".
Vanflyer
It means to "ante up" like when you're playing poker and you make the initial minimum bet to play the hand. They "anted up".Ok, you are fired too. I know the intent, but anted is not a word in the lexicon of the English dictionary. My lament was on the poor editing of the second lind of a professional sports journalist. It happens (poor editing / writing) and I am bored. Please do not take offense to me taking offense that a professional paper (writer and / or editor) made a mistake. It's no biggie. However, if you post anything here using "anted", I will bust huge balls!! ok? Edited June 21, 2012 by Vanflyer

At the end of a 12 hour shift and trying to find something interesting to focus my mind on, I thought she was trying to sound street wise and confused the issue. I actually thought I was helping!!
