Sabres beat Dallas, but my concerns are with Jack Quinn

I do not believe Jack Quinn has a single point yet?  That to me is strange?  I wonder if he is getting along with Ruff?  I cant really get a handle on this team.  This new guy McCleod somthing?  I know nothing about him.  Thomson and Tuch scored which I would expect.  Power had 3 assists but Dahlin is not really playing great yet.  I hope they get better.  They were up 3-0 with 6 minutes left and Dallas pulls the goalie with 6 freaing minutes left!!!!  They scored 2 before Tuch finished them off with an open net goal.  Pretty gambling stuff by the Dallas coach.  I wonder if more teams will do this?

As for Jack Quinn its a head scratcher for sure.  I hope he gets it going.

No, it makes perfect sense. Quinn sucks, he's just bad, no more than a warm body filling up a roster spot on the bottom-6. I have much more faith in JJ Peterka, Benson and even Kulich who had a really good game and proves himself to be a reliable option in this team. I won't be worried about Dahlin, a slow start like some other leaders in this early stage of the season (like a certain pointless Stars #4...)

The Stars had a good first period but unexpectedly beagn to play on their heels from the second period. Then it was trailing hockey with lots of turnovers and bad plays. Nothing to blame about Öttinger: an unfortunate rebound on the crossbar and a masterclass blast from Thompson where Dumba cheated on his left side. I forgot about how Lindyball hockey is fun at some point, the same way he was coaching the Stars: screw the defense, go for it, all out attack, and sees where that goes.

Sounds like sour grapes to me and NO, Quinn doesn’t suck.

Ryan McLeod

+Outstanding speed. One of the fastest skaters in the NHL.

+Transports the puck well from his end, leading to good zone exits.

+Excellent penalty killer and very good defensive player at even-strength.

-Poor offensively because he's a perimeter player who won't go to the net with any sort of regularity.

-Almost completely non-physical: doesn't hit at all and shies away from contact.

-Only so-so faceoff man, which takes away from his ability to be one of the top defensive specialists in the league.

I have no idea how you can keep track of these guys.  I used to be able to back in the 70s I suppose.  And when my own team was good.

I spend an embarrassing amount of time watching hockey, but in this case, it was a bit easier: he was an Oiler for four years.
