Howie58
Greetings: The odds are strangely even on this game given the team records, but it's worth noting that the Caps are 7-3 against us at Wells Fargo over the last 10, and 12-6 over the last 18 overall. In short, this is a tough opponent: https://www.oddsshark.com/nhl/washington-philadelphia-odds-october-22-2024-2297579 Their GF is roughly equal to our GAA: https://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/phi-vs-wsh/2024/10/22/2024020092 Perhaps our scoring perks up. And do we see Coots as a fourth line winger? I guess the early start means Happy Hour Hockey. Edited 10 hours ago by Howie58

Starting Couturier on the wing was weird enough last game (his 800th). Playing him 20+ for 4 months straight didn’t work out so well last season but I hope there’s a better solution than 3rd line wing. OTOH the 2 games I saw Tortorella going with a top 6 without Couturier made some sense; Couturier wasn’t involved much in driving play or anything else. Well no big deal it’s early days. Tortorella’s penchant for juggling lines is bound to be part of the storyline for awhile. The skaters can make things easier for themselves all they have to do is score some goals !
