TropicalFruitGirl26
Ding dong, the Capfriendly is dead. Not sure how long PuckPedia has been around, but, looks like they are going to take the reigns and be the go-to for the info we used to get from Capfriendly. The look is a bit different, but also seeing where they may have some other things in there Capfriendly didn't. It will take a bit to get used to the new look and where to find things quickly, but I am grateful at least, to have a site like PuckPedia that will fill the void left behind by the late Capfriendly. Here is a quick link to PuckPedia for those that may not know. I admit I was not really aware of PuckPedia, and if I was, I forgot about them, but they are now in my bookmarks. NHL Teams by Salary Cap, NHL Contracts and Cap Hit | Puckpedia I will also update this in our Website resources thread. RIP Capfriendly. 2
JR Ewing
There's also https://capwages.com/ which is being run by one of the people who were on the team at capfriendly. It has a similar design and feel as the previous site: Edited July 13 by JR Ewing 1

SaucyJack
Is NHL Capitals & NBA Wee Zards owner Ted Leonsis really getting anything out of this purchase? Do other franchises seriously not have this information in some other form? Online, even Capitals fans are not feeling very warm these days to their owner. Qatari investment, bullying local authorities for tax breaks with efforts to move (which of course backfired), some may not like the Sportsbook in the arena, and now this CapFriendly stuff. (Not very “Caps Friendly” is he? ) OK I deserve to sit in the corner after that! But before I do, be aware that many are so discombobulated online that they are getting our owner’s first name wrong: - some think it is “Richard” per the shorter nickname of it they use -some think it is “Curt” but seem to always get the 3rd letter wrong. OK, corner time.

OK, corner time. I'm not saying yay or nay on the purchase (other than, as a fan, I have one less place to go for stats and contract info), but, seems to me, the Caps did it because they liked how the site was run, how accurate the people running it are as contract analysts and reporters and simply wanted that whole infrastructure brought 'in house' to basically work for them. There are LOTS of articles out there with all sorts of reasoning behind it, and many people, myself included at first, thought it was some sort of profit move, when, now it looks like, it was all about getting the data collected on the site, get the people running it, and have them continue to analyze and report numbers....but ONLY to the Washington Capitals for their own use as their front office looks to continue doing business. Seems the Caps could have just developed their own site and hire people to run it, but they decided to just buy what was already created instead of the whole growing pains of developing a similar site for their own use. Not saying that is the final answer, but the more I read about this acquisition, the more it seems to point in that direction as an internal 'addition' to their organization, rather than some copyright or profit scheme. yave1964
I have been a HUGE fan of capfriendly as well as elite prospects, puckpedia more or less does some of the things that cap did, a big muss for puck is roster designations and salary issues for drafted players who are not yet playing within the organization. Damn shame to lose a fantastic site, puckpedia is supposedly aware of changes that fans want and many will be implemented.
TropicalFruitGirl26
Capwages (thanks again JR and J0e) seems even MORE closer to resembling the former capfriendly. CapWages | NHL Salary Data I have found myself using them more and more....although 'Pedia still has some interesting stuff on them. Both are in my bookmarks.
