As much as I’d like to see your Oilers prevail, it is difficult to win the war of attrition, shift-in shift-out against the Cats.  They win their first Cup, leaving it to a future Leafs squad to win for Canada lol

I have to agree.  They have been the best team all year.  I’ll say Florida in 6 as I feel they have beaten better teams to get here, though none of them great, Florida included.

That McDavid ran away with the scoring title, was bounced out of the play-in round, and told that he needed to become a more complete player. The Athletic now sees him as being in the top 81% of defensive players in the league while still getting the highest offensive rating available. Injured this year, he still nearly won the scoring title, losing to a guy who's a 40% defensive player. The current McDavid has the 3rd best PPG in playoff history, 2nd best assists per game (in an era of much lower offense and with a deeper talent pool), is currently leading the playoffs in scoring, and is likely to set a new record for playoffs assists, all while providing a complete game where he doesn't cheat for offense at all.

 

I'll take the current McDavid every day of the week.

It's going to be a great series. I predict Florida wins 4-2 tonight, and Edmonton comes back and wins Game 2. If Hyman can have a McDavid or Draisaitl-like performance in one of these game, this will go 7 and be a coin flip, but I'm still leaning toward the Panthers to win the Cup.. in 6. 

 

I like both teams, so I'll be happy with whoever wins.

With two days off between each travel between the finalist arenas, it’s easy (well, with a 3-person van pool and in-vehicle sleeping gear, maybe) to attend all the games in this series without flying!
