This is where they have been for 15 years. I understand that, and you're correct, but stuff like taking a high risk pick again (like Nolan Patrick) can't happen. This is why they need to avoid Eiserman. They can't gamble.

In exchange, Boston will receive goaltender Joonas Korpisalo, centre Mark Kastelic and the Senators 25th overall pick in Friday's NHL Draft Yep. And that 25th pick was originally Boston’s pick that has been traded twice before. Boston traded it to Detroit and they traded it to the Sens and now it’s back to Boston.

This is where they have been for 15 years. Which brings us back to "where they pick" in relation to "every pick must succeed." When you see the Habs drop three picks to move up five spots it's likely because they see a drop off of talent around 20, much like has been said about the drop off after 12-13. When you're picking 22nd in a weak draft you wind up with a Rubustov or two. Did they just buy out Atkinson to make room for Laine to swap Konecny to them for the 4 with the 12 and 32 and Columbus retains their 2nd? We can start a small side business buying out former Blue Jackets on our way to success. Edited Friday at 10:01 PM by radoran

Or Gaudreau to relieve them of that contract. Gaudreau comes home and Atkinson signs with them. Wouldn't make sense to absorb an ageing Gaudreaus contract, but I could so see the Flyers do this.

See, you just created another reason to draft Demidov. So we don't to go through that crap.
OccamsRazor
sure off topic but i would defeinately kick the tires on Nils Lundkvist 24 next month and fits the young D mold RHD 6-1 190 Great option to play next to Emil Andrea and allow the Flyers to move Risto if they can find a taker. BobbyClarkeFan16
You can also add Max Comtois to the list. Big left winger who was never given a real chance after his rookie year in Anaheim. I think that's a guy who could explode on the third line in Philadelphia. He could be a real pain in the ass on a line with Poehling and Brink. And who knows, maybe he does rediscover his during touch and he can pop 15 to 17 goals there 3
