@OccamsRazor Totally agree with your last post. So now the coach is fired, and it's all his fault. It appears the narrative has shifted within our forum, and that little glimmer of hope has crapt back in. The discussion has moved back to this being a playoff team if things go right. I think this is what I love most about Flyer fans (myself included), we stay loyal and hopeful. It's still my opinion, and I suspect many others, that the team is no better off, the playoffs are pipe dream, and should the team make it, there will a false sense of security that one or two moves will flip the switch. Should they manage to get in, fletch will stay, Yeo will be permanent, and we will spend the next few years discussing the missed decisions that could have been made at this particular moment. Someone else just pointed how awful yhe flyers have been drafting players and having them develop into NHL stars. Why would you give up a proven player in Provy, for a project player that couldn't crack the line up out of camp?

I am going to take the path not oft traveled. I think they will be sellers. CF is the next head to go in the guillotine, he has to know this. Yeo after that, or at the same time. Giroux will be traded for a top prospect, and pick(s). JVR will be dealt for whatever it takes to get rid of him. I also think another player that many here covet will be dealt. Laughton maybe, or Lindblom, possibly TK Other dead weight will be also cleared out. By next season, the nucleus will be Coots, Provy, Ellis, Farabee, Atkinson, Risto and Hart

We are two seasons removed from Coots establishing himself as a perennial Selke winner. Now we question why he isnt still that and are willing to ship him out. That is a mistake. He will be the next ex-Flyer to be great somewhere else. When I look at him then, and now, what stands out to me is the team around him. The downward spiral. The changing roster. Lackluster play.
