  1. You should be, after all, haven't you already tapped out?!
  2. Pbbbbbbbt I had nothing, so I decided to act childish
  3. That means Trotz might still be in play
  4. Found this out the hard way...marriages 1,2,3
  5. Honestly, I don't know anything about Cassidy. From what Ive read, hes a helluva coach. If he was brought in, I wouldnt be unhappy. Differences between him and Torts? I dunno I just know, if it is Torts, it''ll be interesting. I think the team will get better. I don't know why a franchise, that seems to want "yes" men, would hire a "Fck YOU" coach. Could times be a changing?
  6. Trotz will want to continue his winning ways, and will sign with a contending team. From what i've read, Cassidy hasnt been interviewed. Torts is wanting back in, and his ego would thrive turning around a franchise like the Flyers it''l be Torts!
  7. Ive been thinking about the points you bring up here. What is better, having a team make the playoffs for 10 straight years, never winning a SC, or losing 9 out of 10 years, and winning the SC one time? To each their own on the answer. Why are there so many Flyers fans from outside the Philly area? Is it just becasue they won 2 SC's before many, or most were born? Or is because the way they played the game? For me, it isn't because they won. Looking back over the years, I don't remember what happened in the games where they won the SC. But I remember how they played. Same with the 80 Word Series. I remember the players, and Schmidt being the MVP, but I don't recall all the hits or plays. But I do remember how each Philadelphia championship felt, and where I was when it happened. Funny thing about sports, fans of teams that have had dynasties, probably aren't any more passionate about their teams than those who haven't. I guess they just get to talk more shidt about it
  8. youre taking it out of context
  9. So did the Dallas Cowboys
  10. Maybe not with Chuck, but this franchise has won with the majority of this front office in place. And when that happened, there wasn't the threat of mass exodus of fans. I want this team to be watchable, entertaining and of course winning. I dont believe the current management is capable, but that isn't going to erode 54 years of me supporting this team. If they suck and are boring, I won't watch because I'm not entertained. If they start playing well, I will be there. The mere fact that many are here, in our fantastic forum, day after day, bitching an whining(myself included), shows the passion and dedication. Ive said before, I dont really care about the finances and contracts, and maybe I'm in that insanity fan vaporlock, but all I want is a watchable team to root for, even if it's just one season
  11. It's clearly the fault of the front office. 100%. The tune, and tone, will change if wins come, regardless of how they happen Philly phans are Phickle
  12. It does matter. Without dissecting all the hows, if the team starts winning, the flock will return
  13. If trotz doesnt take the job, its Torts'.
  14. Reading around the net...all signs indicate Torts is the guy Someone contact the Mayor's office and have him shut down the Walt Whitman
  15. At some point, a bunch of smaller players will equal a full squad of little guys Not sure that will work
  16. Atkinson on Torts: “it all starts with practice. You practice how you play, especially when I turned pro. I learned that from John Tortorella. He was great in that aspect." he went on: “It was hard to mold and gel as a group when you’re playing so many games (and not practicing much) … You can’t really get on the ice and do it . I think going into next year, we need to find a way to have some more grit, some more jam, more ‘F you” to our game, on both sides of the puck, in our crease, defending our goalie and in their crease. I thought we were a pretty soft team this year in my opinion.” Sounds like he's on board
  17. I think Trotz is the better coach overall. I'd prefer him. But Torts might be more of what'd needed for the current Flyer team/franchise. Maybe I'm wrongly comparing him to Mike Keenan, but that's where my mind is. Flyer players have for a long time, have been coddled and prioritized over then team as a whole. Having a coach who won't tolerate that, is what's we need.
  18. Only way I would do this, is if the player you brought in was legitimately better at his position, then either are at theirs. And you have to factor who has to fill the void left by their departure
  19. If true, we win! We finally get to have nice things @OccamsRazor reference
  20. Without any direction toward who you were discussing this with, I really like the way you made your points here. This was really well stated. It was kind of like the argument how team owners, are idiots. I doubt they got billions and continue to run business by stupid. They might not be good at running a hockey team, but most coaches who've ever played the game, have never won a championship. That doesnt make them idiots
  21. JVR has to. Whatever it takes. I could only choose one option, but I'd take any thay results in him being out. Then his named should be purged from Flyers history like he never existed Giroux should be brought back and compensation worthy of his current play. This won't happen, I know. But if it did, it would show an unselfishness and dedication to the Flyers that would solidify him as one of my all time favs. It's selfish, I know, but so what
