This takes us back to that morality standard Flyer fans hold dear. Oscar is a good guy and a hero for his battle. And for that, the Flyers get skewered for moving him. The fact that he probably isn't a part the future, and is at best a 4th line guy, is dismissed as irrelevant.
Personally, I would much rather have the 2nd leading scorer, and legit mvp candidate, than a fantastic human interest story
You can't win with a roster full of bottom six players who are nice guys
I do think Lindblom will be come a cap casualty, even if its not for JG. They have to get rid of JVR, and there is no way to do this without giving up some kind of assets. Im not saying Lindblom and JVR will be a package, but possibly separate moves with the same objective
If somehow, Scott Laughton was traded to make room for JG, I would take an immediate vacation so I could swim in an oasis of bourbon
I dont know what's goes. I'm not nearly smart enough to even guess.
But I have to believe JVR is a major cog. I find the Deangelo signing curious, with non word on Ellis. I'm now thinking Eliis is done. You know better than me how that works
I think there will a player ot two that will be involved that are going to make our little forum hyperventilate.
I think there is definitely something happening in line with this statement
If it happens, mass hysteria will prompt the development of a forum lynch mob. Im looking forward to it
@mojo1917
I felt the same thing, a topic if it's own "flyers morality standard" or something...maybe one of those with the magic it skills will intervene
I completely forgot Vick, even though he was in my mind when I was formulating my thoughts. A great point
I'm not saying I particularly like DeAngelo. When I saw the story on TV, I thought he was a dick. But he had a good season in CAR and if he does the same this season, I think fans will warm to him.
I just shake my head when you have a team this bad, you don't want a guy who can help you get better, because you don't like him....and you've never met him
I wonder if other fanbases have such a strict morality standard for their teams' players?
We live in a society where sports figures can be rapists, involved in homicides, and all manner of other malfeasance, and still make it to their respective HOF. I'm of the opinion that Eric Lindros was most likely an assshole, but if he was in his prime, I dont think the Flyer fanbase would want him on the team
I dont really care about DeAngelos personality, Or Torts propensity to act like a dick. Right now I only care if they can help this team be more interesting to watch
Yeah, getting rid of NAK was a huge mistake. We all knew he would win a cup someday. Only move worse than this was getting rid of 3x cup winner Pat Maroon
