  1. Torts recently said this about Eliis: “I’ve had several conversations with Ryan Ellis as far as how he’s doing,” Tortorella said. “That’s been an up and down process for him. He’s doing everything he possibly can to get ready for camp, [but] I’m doubtful that’s going to happen.” ....“To have an injury like he has, miss training camp, and then be ready for the regular season, I think it’s going to take some time,” he continued. “I don’t want to speak for Ryan, I haven’t spoken to him in a few weeks. But I know it was up and down as far as just what he’s doing right now trying to get himself ready.” After reading your question, then re-reading this quote, I could be that Torts is already sending a message. It will most likely be interpreted to mean, Ellis just wont be ready. That's probably it. But he could be telling Ellis, if you miss camp, don't expect to be in the line up at the start of the season
  2. I think he will. If he doesn't, his reputation will take a hit. Personally, I think he will fast track some of these guys right out of Philly
  3. i think JVR's head is in a constant Coriolis effect.....the fact that its shaped like a broken wiffleball is beside the point
  4. In a recent interview, Torts said RE probably won't be ready for camp, or the start of the season. When the Flyers held their exit interviews in late April, Ellis was upbeat. He said his doctors had finally figured out the “multi-layered” problem and that he wouldn’t need surgery Hunh? Out an entire season, and no surgery is/was needed? And no report on what this supposed injury is? The thing that bugs me most is how they report this garbage with the smug arrogance that we are so stupid, we will believe it
  5. I see it differently. Any move the Flyers make that removes dead weight, is a win. If they just add useless to remove useless, then yeah, a wash
  6. Great point. Totally agree. But on the flip side, without the internet those conversations would be limited to your local crowd only. How would I get insight from OC, mojo, yourself or , (gulp, I cant belive I'm saying this) or Rux ?
  7. Very interesting synopsis. But what does it have to do with the hypothetical conversations our forum would have if we were discussing those events as they transpired?
  8. I remember watching that happen. I stood up the whole time in my living room....wife thought I was an idiot!
  9. Thinking of the way people react today, I wonder how many forum members would've criticized the Lindros trade when it happened? Hindsight being 20/20, I would still do that trade today
  10. There are 15 people arguing in my head at the moment
  11. Tim Kerr would've been a great discussion. 4 goals in 8:16 against the Rags (who I fcking hate ) in a playoff game Can you imagine how the medical staff would get brutalized in this forum over his issues?
  12. Among many things that happened, I would have loved discussing the Montreal pre-game brawl. That was a one of a kind. Considering today's views on fighting, I wonder how forum posters would've reacted to that
  13. We obviously have had little, to no good, to discuss for a long time. When stuck in a negative rut that hits hard emotionally, people react differently. I often wonder how some of us might interact if our forum was around during the 70s, 80s, or during the rise of the legion. How would we be discussing those events? How many people would have lost their minds when we traded for Eric? What would the reaction be to BC breaking the ankle of that Russian? We missed out on some good material
  14. Scouting department is as inept at the front office Wonder why?
  15. REPORTED! its all we've been doing since 1976.....our dream is a nightmare
  16. I was reading an article that suggested JVRs trade value (which is holding at a solid zero) could go higher with more goals. Ok, OBVIOUSLY! But seriously, I think there might be something there. Put his ass on the first line and first PP. Then give him every opportunity, plus even more, to score whatever he can. Don't worry about his attempt to look like he can even spell defense. Just force feed him, hope for some overinflated production, then dump his a$$ at the trade deadline to whatever contender makes an offer
  17. So youre saying if I watch the team play, I will gain knowledge and experience about the game and the players? Im pretty sure all I'll learn is this team sucks sweaty goat balls
  18. a bigger question might be.... does anyone want to be named captain of this schidt show?
