  1. Lots of great options there, i like how you mentioned NHL and international play too
  2. My friend and I have been having a debate lately and I want to hear your opinions. If you had a friend that doesn't know a thing about hockey and you wanted to get them into the sport, what game are you making them watch? We have debated between the 2010 Olympics Gold medal game, as well as a few game 7's over the recent seasons, but what would you show them? Let me know, I want to hear some opinions I haven't heard yet!
  3. Hey everyone, With Robertson still looking to force his way out of Toronto, I decided to look into the situation and share my opinion on it. If you have an opinion or prediction for how this will all play out, leave it down below and let's discuss it! If you want to take a read on my opinion, check it out here ( https://www.thenhlrewind.ca/post/diving-into-the-nick-robertson-situation-in-toronto ) Thanks and go leafs!
  4. This list takes into account their performance last year, coupled with the progression/regression that I expect to see them display in the 2024-25 season. Whether this be due to age, new teammates, or new look behind the bench, this is the order of players I would want on my team for this next season. McDavid MacKinnon Matthews Draisaitl Crosby Barkov Jack Hughes Brayden Point JT Miller Connor Bedard Sebastian Aho Jack Eichel Robert Thomas Elias Petterson Matt Barzal HM: Vincent Trocheck, Mika Zibanejad, Tage Thompson & Nico Hischier
  5. Hey all, I have only ever posted in the "Around the NHL" thread, so I am really excited to share my first post about a specific team on this website! For most of you who have never seen one of my posts, I'll quickly explain what I do. I write blogs over on "The NHL Rewind", a very small and new site, but share the summary of my writing here for people to discuss/debate. If you ever want to read my full rationale just visit my site, or this link (https://www.thenhlrewind.ca/post/guessing-the-toronto-maple-leafs-opening-night-roster) for this specific post. Please leave your thoughts under this topic, and thanks for joining in on the convo! Knies - Matthews - Domi Robertson - Tavares - Marner McMann - Minten - Nylander Dewar - Kampf - Jarnkrok Rielly - Tanev OEL - Liljegren Benoit - McCabe Woll
  6. Hey everyone, I am still super busy but wanted to put together this article after seeing The Hockey Guy's video where he ranked the top tandems in the league. I have not seen the video, but am sure our lists don't align much. Let me know what you think, and for my full rationale head to my website! (https://www.thenhlrewind.ca/post/tandem-tussle-a-western-conference-throw-down) #1 Saros / Wedgewood #2 Hellebuyck / Kahkonen #3 Oettinger / DeSmith #4 Demko / Silovs #5 Hill / Samsonov #6 Stuart Skinner / Calvin Pickard #7 Jordan Binnington / Joel Hofer #8 Petr Mrazek / Laurent Brossoit #9 Darcy Kuemper / Dave Rittich #10 Filip Gustavsson / Marc-Andre Fleury #11 Alexandar Georgiev / Justus Annunen #12 Phillip Grubauer / Joey Daccord #13 Connor Ingram / Karel Vejmelka #14 John Gibson / Lukas Dostal #15 Dustin Wolf / Dan Vladar #16 Mackenzie Blackwood / Vitek Vanecek
  7. Hey everyone, I have been very busy and unable to post over the last few days, so I wanted to post this topic and get a little debate going. Tell me, through a 7 game series, which team you think would win and why: Team A: Matthew Tkachuk, Auston Matthews, Nikita Kucherov, Victor Hedman, Cale Makar, Juuse Saros Team B: Kirill Kaprizov, Nate McKinnon, David Pastrnak, Miro Heiskanen, Adam Fox, Igor Sheshterkin I will leave my vote out for now, would love to hear everyones reasoning first!
  8. Hey everyone, I haven't gotten a chance to get an article out on this topic, and not 100% sure I will be able to, but just wanted to share my list for the Pacific as well so that every division has been discussed! Admittedly, 2 through 4 is a very tight race in my books, and injuries might be the tie breaker... 1. Oilers 2. Canucks 3. Golden Knights 4. LA Kings 5. Seattle Kraken 6. Calgary Flames 7. Ducks 8. Sharks Let me know what you agree/disagree with!
  9. We're back baby. After a long and thoughtful few days I have created my list for the Metro. I am yet to get absolutely ripped on for one of my first two lists, so third time is the charm I guess. Anyways let me know where and why you disagree, and for the full rationale of my picks, you can head to www.thenhlrewind.ca where I just posted the full article. Thanks everyone! 1. Rangers 2. Devils 3. Canes 4. Caps 5. Islanders 6. Penguins 7. Blue Jackets 8. Flyers
  10. I see you are a fan of Dallas, so I am curious why you don't see Heiskanen as a true top 4?
  11. I just posted a few days ago my Atlantic division standings, but here are my predictions for the Central division. Again, please let me know what you think and what you agree/disagree with! 1. Dallas 2. Colorado 3. Nashville 4. Winnipeg 5. Utah 6. Minnesota 7. Chicago 8. St. Louis Just like last time, if you want to see my rationale for my picks, it's the most recent publication on thenhlrewind.ca !
  12. This legitimately made my week, thanks for reading and keeping the convo going!
  13. This is no easy task and I likely BUTCHER this, but as the off season continues to creep by I thought this could be fun to discuss. Let me know what you think about the list and the changes you would make! 1. Boston 2. Toronto 3. Tampa Bay 4. Florida 5. Red Wings 6. Sabres 7. Senators 8. Habs If you want to hear my rationale for my picks, I wrote a quick article on it that can be found at my website (www.thenhlrewind.ca) !
  14. Hey ruxpin, Love your analysis on Washington - really does seem like they want to give Ovi one more shot and I would say they did just about as well as they could. I also really like the Matt Roy signing. I agree with Seattle, it is sort of a bunch of armchair gm moves where, yes, they are good players, but the contract and fit seem a little sketchy. Hopefully Bylsma can have a good first year there.
