  1. I get what you're saying but I just think that's his way of not calling out specific players during the interview. If he says he needs to go back and look at tape before forming an opinion, he'll get to dance around any difficult topic that comes up about any aspect of the game. He probably knows who is dragging ass or not playing the way they should, just doesn't want to say in the media.
  2. haha, maybe it was all the time watching the penalty kill from the penalty box that gave his PK resume so much exp?
  3. Absolutely! I had a feeling Talbot was gonna plateau. swapping Couts and Talbot would be perfect... it almost makes so much sense that I'm finding myself baffled that it's not the way it is already.
  4. This is why he's on the fourth line. I do think that it's a waste for him to have line mates like Rinaldo and Sestito. But it's the nature of the beast when the team is this deep at the forward position and he's just a rookie who made the team. He'll move up soon enough. a very nice problem indeed.
  5. exactly what I was thinking when I read that... he has a lot of $#it games to make up for. but staying with the positive, yes, he has certainly looked better of late!
  6. that hit on tootoo was fabulous. wondered if he may have been too shaken up to go with Rinaldo afterwards. A tootoo fight is almost always entertaining and yet...
  7. that game is a fine example of why games ending in ties is okay. that game was a tie. neither team even looked like a team that deserved to win that one. yet, a team gets to walk away with an extra point because they won some BS skill comp. I just hate the shootout.
  8. This conversation really needs to incorporate the number of goals allowed in the opening minutes of a game. But your point remains, the end of period goals are torture (5 seconds left in the period are you kidding me?!?)
  9. Probably not as this team is unable to reside in a "growing" state. If they aren't challenging for the cup (or at least appear to be) then it's a losing season. The team doesn't have the patience to develop a goalie. In my mind, if they were, then Bob would be the prefect candidate... still is. I mean, we are only one season removed from his rookie season where he stole the starting job out of camp. If he didn't steal the starting job and instead came into the spotlight half way through the season as a stellar backup, I think he'd be viewed differently. If there was patience for growth though, Bryz wouldn't have been signed.
  10. I didn't, but that's awesome!
  11. man, there was one play where he slid from left to right to make a save. then the puck I believe came around to the other side of the net. I saw his head track it but his body was frozen there for another second or so before he lunged over. very easily could've been a goal against but I the shooter sent it high and wide. the one D play that made me laugh was when Timmo turned and faced the guy he almost let go. I seriously thought he was going to called for interference or something. The shot ended up hitting Timmo in the back of the leg but the way he played his man was hilarious.
  12. I agree Jack, Bryz played decent tonight. He gave the Flyers a chance to win and they just couldn't score. it's unbelievable that the guy just can't win one shootout!
  13. " I very much enjoyed him being miced up............the NHL made a nice call there." I did as well, I wonder what their reaction to "suck it Phaneuf" was haha "Harts added a lot of life and spunk to a somewhat dreary game." indeed! i felt like I was watching a man who was still giddy from all the All Star stuff.
  14. Sestito is the perfect replacement for Shelley. Just as big, fights and throws big hits. AND can actually play. Any time from here on out, if Shelley is in the lineup and Sestito isn't, I'll ask why.
  15. they should be working on making sure they are all clean and within the rules. How in the world is a player of his calibur going to be useful if he isn't hitting? He certainly isn't lighting up the goals column on the score sheet. He's an energy guy who's best aspect is his physical play. He has hockey skills which help but the main attraction here is his hits and occasional fight. Besides. What's the point of dressing the guy if he's only going to get 5-8 min a game and is being instructed to only throw one body check per period? just plain stupid if you ask me. Keep the style, just work out the timing issues that may be what is sending him to the box. His hits are clean, they al aren't timed right so he's getting calls against. And I'd really like to see refs call all players equal. He definitely wasn't getting a fair shake in the early part of the season. I saw a lot of ticky tack calls go against simply because he was the "AHL call up that is known for physical play" so they call him early and often to send a message, even if most of the calls wouldn't be made if he was an NHL regular.
  16. like Jagr's groin! I have to guess with him it's a matter of it not really healing as much as it is an issue that's always gonna be there and isn't going away> therefore it's either too much to play through or it isn't. The only reason I can guess as to why he keeps coming back and then tweaking it. Dunno though, never had that kind of injury
  17. yeah,Giroux was out indefinitely and he only missed 4 games. It's the right approach. You can't really put a time table on concussions so there's really no point in even trying to speculate.
  18. all those breakaways during the Panthers game was painful
  19. but it's not a lie! I eventually saw it
  20. I think Bryz is doing a pretty good job making management look like idiots on his own, I doubt Lavi has much to worry about in that department at this point. He had the stones to play Bob in the WC... shouldn't be a problem at any point for the rest of the season if that's what he wants to do. I still think they all really believe there's something else going on with Bryz and continued playing time and displays of confidence will eventually get him going in the right direction. If they are paying him what they are, chances are they really think he's that good.
