What would be the point of this?  It's not a game suspension.  It was a game misconduct, removing him and his scumbag shenanigans from that game, as should have been called.

Completely disagree.  The proper calls were made.  And, that's because of the head contact that was made by a cheap, dirty player that Lucic is known to be.  There was one objective in his actions.  And, if anything, the contact deserved a hearing and a fine.  The proper calls on ice were made.

Well...we'll have to agree to disagree about Lucic being dirty...Lucic has taken it easy many of times where he could have injured others but didn't...even this hit on Smith can see Lucic stop a bit by the snow flying up...looks like they both didn't know which way to turn...

I’m going to make a prediction:  it doesn’t happen often but the NHL is going to rescind the game misconduct penalty on Lucic.

    Here is my reasoning:

Smith was going to send the puck behind the net (probably a fake) then decided instead to put the puck in the corner to his left.  If he would’ve continued to send the puck behind the net ther wouldn’t have been any contact at all.  There was enough room for Lucic between Smith and the net for Lucic to get through.  When Smith changed his mind, Lucic tried to change his course but he was already committed.  You can see the snow spray from Lucic trying to stop.   Lucic’ s left skate clipped Smith’s skate that caused both players to lose their balance, Lucic going forward and Smith backwards.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not blaming Smith for the contact. Yes, there was some shoulder to head contact, but not much, IMHO.  Smith lost his helmet when he fell but didn’t hit his head on the boards or the ice.  I don’t believe there was any intent by Lucic to even hit Smith let alone intent that would rise to a 5 min major and game misconduct.

I think two reasons they called it that way was first due to the over-reaction of the concussion spotter saying that Smith had to be evaluated. That fulfilled the “injury” part of the rule even though there really was no injury.  The second reason was to control the game without a slew of penalties the rest of the way.

I think it should’ve only been a 2 min minor.

I agree...can see the snow spray from Lucic stopping a bit...

Another one going to the limit. I picked the Flames to reach the SC final and I think goaltending and defence will make the difference. Flames in 7.

Robustness goes to the oil...? Doesn't robustness mean toughness...? No way is Edmonton more robust than Calgary...

If Been is involved, then it will be a useless fight. But I didn't recall Zadorov as a tough D-man. Big and heavy yes, but not that intimidating. When he was with Avs vs. the Stars in the 2020 series, he was barely a factor, playing mostly in the third pair.

But if this game #7 is turning physical, I fear for the Stars: they have been so soft, it's obvious just by looking at Klingberg who has been molested in the entire series.

Yeah Zadorov is big but not good fighter...hopefully he'll improve one day but not holding my breath hahaha...

Oh, completely disagree.  Glendening didn't see him coming.  Zadorov doesn't leave his skates, but he raises that shoulder and hits Glendening right in the head.  There was no chance to turn away at all.  Should have been a penalty at the time, and it should have been a 1 game suspension.  But, these officials and the league aren't consistent with their accountability, so he gets nothing at all.

Yes, the head needs to be up and aware in the NHL.  However, that doesn't mean that contact to the head should be disregarded.  Had Glendening seen him, and had time to adjust and try to avoid it(like Crosby did with the hit on him), and moved his head into the contact, then it would be another story.  It just wasn't the case with this hit.

Ok...thought I remembered seeing Glendenning looking at puck then look up then look back at puck before getting hit...or maybe it was he looked up right before getting hit...

Thinking also Zadorov doesn't have history of dirty hits too so that has to factor in - but at least now there might be a Zadovrov fight on Sunday and hopefully not a useless fight near end of game because either way they gonna have to shake everyone hand at end anyways.

Absolutely ridiculous.  Should have been a penalty called on the play and a suspension.  League and officials drop the ball once again.

Looked to me like he was trying to hit the body and Glendenning turned away from the oncoming hit...

Well, I had other plans for Sunday evening, apparently it will be hockey. The Stars decided to be a pain in the ass until the very end. While being great, Öttinger did not steal this one: The Flames started very well, but thing got even since and the Stars really started to get in control from the second period. I'm not saying that because of the outcome but we had to wait until game #6 to finally have a fun game and not the boring 90s trap we've seen so far.

I'd say Öttinger's save against Toffoli (or Tkatchuk ?) in game #4. Though Markström did hell of a save, Pavelski played it quite lazy.

The Stars are undefeated when Nat "boobs" Gauvreau is behind Bowness, let's send her in Calgary for that game #7.

Her name is Gauvreau...? She famous of something for something else other than that picture?
