Those two brothers going to end up in St Louis I guess...now that players decide everything they'll all want to be closer to home...even Dubois letting it known he wants to go to Montreal so in the future teams will have to be knowledgeable about trading players to their favorite teams or closer to their families before they reach free agency...

Maybe it's not about that.   Maybe it's about a life work of going to one of the best schools in the nation to be able to work at one of the best hospitals.   She should give up everything so Calgary fans can have their "legend" when as a married couple they have more money than they need and he can play hockey closer to her?  And honestly, I cannot begin to imagine what being a "legend" in Calgary gets someone.  It's like being the most popular pretzel stand operator in Poughkeepsie.

Good lord.    Leave It to Beaver is calling; it wants its antiquated world view back.

Haha settle down man...hockey legend in Calgary is about being in the record books and a better chance at the Cup...maybe the Flyers are turning into a pretzel stand but the Calgary general manager Dad owns and operates a pretty popular pizza joint and he knows how to operate a hockey team too it seems hahaha...

Wow, what generation are you from?  She has a career too, and I'm sure hers is important to her and her husband as well.  Money isn't everything and nurses are very passionate about their work.  Come on man.....

Yeah I know it's not a modern opinion but I'd still pick the 15M more on top of the millions more...nurses like helping others but I thought some nurses would like to retire early too...guess I am from the old generation then...

don’t kid yourself….as a healthcare provider myself I know which hospital she works for and she is required to have a BSN not her LPN.

BSN’s earn 75k to 100k+ per year depending on experience and specialty.

For example Certified Nurse Practitioners (CRNP) start around 110k per year and if you are a Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) starting salary is 175K+ per year.

CHOP is part of the UPenn Health Care System, the same Healthcare System I work for. It is highly specialized for pediatric patients and I know many of those RN’s are highly trained and compensated very well.

Ok it's a good job...but I wouldn't continue working if the other choice was 15M on top of all the other Ms...just saying I don't understand the need to work of you're already rich...but I guess being a nurse she might just like helping others...but to give up millions like they did is not something I'd do...

Why?  They're not even married a year yet and she works at one of the best pediatric hospitals in the country.  They knew when they got married that he was done in Calgary and would move closer.  Why "should" she have been?  Just curious.

Because they could have had 15M more by staying in Calgary and a chance at being an all time Calgary legend and better chance at the Cup...I doubt working as a nurse at the best hospitals pays much...

    Ok...im calling conspiracy

Jg wanted out of CAL and back to PHI. Dickface couldn't move JVR, therefore freeing up the cap space, but he tried. This is why it took so long. So JG signs in CBJ where he will play for a season, then get traded to Philly. There are a lot of CBJ /Philly connections to suggest this as plausible

However, and as absurd as it is, if this was to come true, it still won't get me to watch any games this season. Fletcher can eat a bag of dcks!

Yeah I think Columbus is just a pitstop for Gaudreau too...

His wife, a registered nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, is about to have their first child, and Columbus is a LOT closer to Philly and Jersey than Calgary is.  Really not that hard to understand, is it?  As Treliving said, this is a family decision.

Why didn't he just choose Jersey and be the closest...didn't know his wife was still working and not in Calgary living with him but she should have been...

Lol.  Too funny.  Concern over losing "Gudbranson"?  That's just hilarious.

Seriously?  You realize he's from Salem, New Jersey, right?  Yeah, just a bit closer to home.

Yeah I like Gudbrandson he's tough as fck too...I don't like Calgary getting softer...

As for wanting to be closer to home he should have just went to Jersey then or Long Island...

It's not right around the corner, but it's simply a lot closer to home. It's a 2 hour plane ride from Columbus to Philly or Newark instead of like 8 hours direct.   It's as simple as that.  Nothing about the Flames or Calgary or the fan base there.

It was about proximity and the highest bidder within that proximity.

He will also be playing a lot more road games in his family's neck of the woods now.

So just anywhere on the west coast would have been enough...? Still sad all it took was an East coast team...

That Calgary Flames Blake Coleman goal would have gone in on its own even if it had not touched his skate. It was heading into the net anyway, and it would have been credited to Mikael Backlund, who shot the puck at the net. If I was Blake Coleman I would have just lifted my foot in the air and let the puck go in the net on its own, but I guess he couldn't, and he needed to stop himself from crashing into the net. I don't think he intentionally directed the puck into the net. Because of this controversy, I don't think it would look good if Edmonton won the Cup this season.

I agree the goal should have counted as it was called a goal right away and as you said it was going in anyways...as for intent I don't think that matters because there was no distinct kicking motion and Coleman was being pushed into the net while also tripping over goalie pads...pushing the puck in with skates and directing the puck in with skates is allowed and what Coleman did was not a distinct kicking motion especially while falling...I think the key is the distinct kicking motion part and intent matters less because of course Coleman wants to help the puck go in...

All 3.  Gaudreau, Tkachuk and Lindholm.

Markstrom has to make that save though...the problem in the Edmonton series was Markstrom being worse than Smith in net and Calgary somehow not playing as physical and not as much emotion as they did against Dallas...

The turning point for me in the Dallas series is when Lucic went after Benn at the opening faceoff...the rest of the team follows Lucic lead and for Dallas in was to keep initiating them...but in the edmonton series nobody from either team even tried to fight...it's like Lucic being friends with most edmonton players told both sides to forget about fighting...

Anyways I hope somehow can keep most of same team...but of course that will only happen if Gaudreau does what McKinnon did and takes less money for sake of keeping same teammates...I don't think he'll do that though...
