Greetings:
Odds aren't out, which may reflect the Pens being prohibitive favorites based on record and the health status of our squad:

While Tristan Jarry is out, the big Pitt guns are in. Apparently, our lineup will mirror the Ducks game.
I don't do the ESPN+, Roku gig....will be spared potential ugliness.

For skill guys I can understand the thinking - a change of scenery has worked before - for skill players. Applying it to a guy who's whole game is making big hits...What in the world convinced the Flyers he would change his game? The guy makes mega$$millions to play HIS game. They really expected he'd suddenly take Defense seriously? Stupid...complete waste of a roster spot and a criminal waste of cap space.
The only upside to Ristolainen is he's a UFA. But I expect Fletcher will take care of that soon enough. Can you imagine 4, 5 more years of this moron skating 20+ mins a night?
I hope and invoke the Hockey Gods by thinking CF might show the same reasoning with Risto that he did with Gustaffson---it was a mistake, accept the heavy sunk costs, and move on. Next best hope....a short-term contract at a few million. He is seen as a short-term help with heavy limitations. Even that thought makes me ill. If the guy gets a long-term contract at what he is currently making, I may say the hell with following this team.

Here is a good take on this performance:
We were offensively inept and our D exhibited the same crap we've witnessed for the past few seasons, with heavy duty breakdowns leading to prime scoring opportunities. Risto's performance was a reminder of how big a mistake CF made in the acquisition. OK, he levels people. Then the folks he levels go on to score because he neglects to cover them close to the net. Big hits and blocked shots are nice. Ultimately, we need to stop quality scoring chances.
York belongs. I am not sure future time in the A will do much.
Hart can only do so much.
I agree with the article. Between talent and COVID, it appears this is a lost season. I gave up after two periods. Natural sleep meant more than what the tube was inducing.

Watching it tonight. Comcast is offering free center ice for a while.
This game isn't worth paying for!

Thank the Lord at least one of our acquisitions is producing. It has been thought to watch.
York is ready for the show.

Greetings:
The Ducks are mild favorites (-120) and have a better overall record, but have lost their last three:
It looks like Hart versus Gibson in goal. Take a gander at Anthony Stolarz's numbers as backup:

Do we win two of four for the trip?

After watching the lowlights, my take:
1. Jones had serious lateral mobility issues.
2. The Arviddson line skated through our D, much like Montreal and the Islanderd' top lines did in the 19-20 playoffs.
3. Out 4th line tries and works.
5. Farabee is for real.

It has been over 3 weeks since I have watched a minute of this excuse of a team's game....maybe not again this year.
Might suggest you do the same if nothing else to ease the nerves....
Occ: Like the Godfather, I keep getting drawn back in. Maybe I am too loyal for my own good.
Yeo may do a better job with this gang than AV, but it probably won't matter. We have some very expensive underperformers who will be hard to erase. Dave Scott and Comcast may pull the plug on Fletcher if they see their property wallow when it was supposed to advance!

It sounds and reads like a.good game to tune out. I would have spoiled Mew Year's.
It is time for Chuck to sell.
-
I looked at the heat map after the first. Our shots are from the distance. The Kings' 17 are much closer and the two scores look like near tap-ins. The Kings top-line is hurting Provy-Braun.
-
I won't be watching. I'll look forward to hearing your take. Peace and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
The Kings are installed as favorites (-165). The computer simulation is a 4-2 Kings win.

Let's hope the O and B start the year with a win.

We saw a potential line of the future. I think it was Frost, Farabee, and Lindblom, or TK. They looked great. Sandstrom looked poised. If someone wanted Jones as a rental for a seasoned backup, let him go. It's time to play the future team. I hope Morin shows up sooner than later.
-
The youth earned their leep. The vets, not so much. Sandstrom was A-OK. Maybe we have another homegrown goalie.
-
Now they blow a 2 man, 2 minute power play. Yandle is a liability.
-
Giving up a shortie. WTF. Now Burns with a laser. It makes me sick. Two minutes have changed the game.

Sandstrom is keeping them in it so far. He looks poised.

Well, Yeo did tip his hand. Sandstrom in goal. I hope it is memorable in a good way.

Let me know when a motivated Flyers squad shows up for more than a game ...I may tune in since theres no WJs and no Olympics.
I am a night-owl so these West Coast games aren't way out of kilter, and watching Taryn compensates a bit for cruddy play. That said, I was really wondering about watching last night. The O and B have been varying degrees of boring/uninspired for years, but last night's performance against a first-year club was probably a new low. As a former goalie, I appreciated Jones' work. Otherwise, it was strange. Even Yeo said there was no compete. Granted, it was the first game in ages and a fair share of COVID-19 subs, but it was still a sleepwalk.

If we made any degree of progress--and I won't hold breath--Hayes becomes an overpaid-term 3rd center. Coots is an overpaid super-2nd center; one of the youngins + Farabee and other become a modern NHL first line that breaks down opponents' defenses.
