  1. But why? I wouldn't mind seeing Elisha Cuthbert in bra and panties: I guess the question would become who is the protagonist and the antagonist between Avery and Pheneuf??
  2. @jammer2 I was thinking the other day about both of those players and particularly Jacque Plante. Shocked that he has not been posted yet. You could say the same for Sawchuk.
  3. The only thing about Prongers contract is it takes up one of the allotted 50 spots. The LTIR is not an issue- even during the off-season, IMHO.
  4. I already had my Simpson moment re: Jagr. He is not retired (this is a Most Valuable Retired Players contest). I do agree with Murphy being on the list. Tocchets tenure there was way too short and he had only one prolific year out of the three he played there. I did ask about Recchi though (should he be on the Flyers or Pens or can he be on both?)?
  5. Interesting points Puck. I really want to embrace them, yet the goalie I witnessed last year was not the by-product of a run-and-gun system. His technical skills were piss pore. His positional play, reading the play and speed were all subpar. His season was the tale of two seasons. October-Novemer / March and then everything else. I truly think he is a non-technical, underskilled, uninspired goalie. Do I want Leighton instead of him, no- but to buy-out the contract, I will tolerate for a season. With the new CBA, I don't think you will see one team stepping up to trade for Luongo. The combination of the years (2022) and cap hit are just too much for ANY team under the proposed new CBA. Vancouver will claim him as their amnesty- after all, they got him for peanuts to begin with.
  6. Now that my simpson moment has passed (momentarily), which team does Recchi belong on? Flyers or Pens?? I would probably say Flyers, but could argue Pens readily. Just trying to backpedal my Simpson moment. Are you buying it??
  7. ****. I hate when I have a homer simpson moment yet again!!!
  8. Who would you put in the staring role and supporting roles?? Seriously, I think Miracle was the best hockey movie ever made- at least most realistic (but fact over fiction always is).
  9. Too bad we do not have a replacement.....oh wait, we did- but he is playing for Columbus now!!! Actually, I do believe that Vancouver would chop Luongo and we could sign him as a UFA.
  10. No Jagr?? Really?? You could put up to 15 players and Jagr should certainly be on the list.
  11. I completely MISSED that Terry Murray is the Phantoms coach now. Sucky year for him- no ring and now riding the buses in the AHL again.
  12. I completely disagree with this. I think you modify your play to your increased vulnerability. I don't mind the shin guards- particularly in higher level of play leagues as the shooters / sticks are pretty lethal. But the elbo and shoulder pads can and should be reduced to non military armor. What you will see is players becoming more responsible and less reckless with their style of play as they will know their vulnerability.
  13. Better to be used to violating things than being used to being violated.
  14. I agree 100%. What Kronwall has done and players like Cote is completely destroy the intent of the hip check. People should check Rob Blake for what the definition of a good hip check is.
  15. Even places like Winnipeg suffer- while the the support is mammoth there, the momentum of that support will suffer.
  16. It is a real treat to have a x-mas baby. My wifes b-day is december 23 and my first child was born on her b-day. My b-day is december 27, so it automatically becomes special of time of year for us all. Congrats.
  17. Actually, you would have to think that Vancouver would use their amnesty buyout on luongo. So, doesn't that basically mean that both would be UFA's and could sign with any team? I would have no qualms about Luongo, just not at 5.33 million until the year 2022.
  18. Not to mention that if Pronger is on LTIR, isn't his salary covered by insurance?
  19. I don't know any of the players of than the goalie meloche and even at that vaguely. I took the two d-men. Vadnais because you and Yave said he was a very good player and Marshall because he endured 6 years on such a crappy team.
  20. I took Sundin and Sittler, but Sittler is ahead in my eyes. Maybe it because of my Flyer slant (when Sittler left the leafs, he still was an excellent player). Also, his PPG avg is higher than Sittler. The thing about Sundin is he played in the clutch and grab era and was a mammoth hockey player with great strength.
