He's making the Preds pay for matching the offer sheet. He doesn't have to give 100% or score another point for the rest of his career and he can retire as a rich man. More likely, he is rusty due to the lock out.
We all know the NHL has a history of rescinding penalties and automatic suspensions (see Malkin, Chara, Lucic, Kasparitis, Smith). The match penalty carries an automatic suspension until the NHL determines if it is warranted. I'm not surprised and I agree with them rescinding the penalty. Unfortunately, the call was made and it affected the outcome of the game.
Well, I can't comment on the skating part but apparently Garrioch can't read or maybe he is Kuato and doesn't watch the games. "2-6-1 record going into Saturday's visit by the Carolina Hurricanes." I'm pretty sure the Flyers were 2-6-0 going into the Carolina game.
I figured as much. I did try to google it and it came up with Tim Thomas, Ryan Miller, and Jonathon Quick. None of them wore it during any olympic competition because they are not allowed to have any political statements or questionable material painted on their masks.
They sure do sound hollow. I skated with a guy who wore those. You didn't ever have to look to see where he was on the ice. You could hear him from 100ft away. He couldn't sneak past anyone.
The Habs have offered Subban a two-year deal worth $2.2 million this year and $2.9 million in 2014 ($2.55 million cap hit). It’s believed they are at least $2.5-$3 million per year apart. If this is true, and if Subban gets the money he's looking for, then his cap hit would be in the neighborhood of $5 million per year. The Flyers are tight against the Cap already this year and the Cap going down next year. It would take Voracek AND Read to make this trade work cap wise. Subban would cost too much.
