  1. Born in Arrlington (Dallas), moved to Denver. His dad approached Joe Sakic for advice. Then he moved back to Dallas area at age 12. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seth_Jones_(ice_hockey)
  2. This is going to be the most brutal series in the first round. Kings in 6.
  3. @nossagog, B21 has a correct guess. @B21, It's your turn to post a mask. Make it a good one!
  4. Obviously, he played a different style than the other 4. He played on some horrible teams early in his career. Before the injuries he was unstoppable.
  5. Just to muddy the waters, I would have liked to see Lindros stay healthy and see what he could have done. He would run through any of those four. :PHI:
  6. @JackStraw, I didn't add it up myself either. I'm looking at next year's contracts (2013-14). Before any more contracts are signed or amnestied, the Flyers are -$3,088,095. I hope you're right
  7. @JackStraw, The RFAs alone are going to eat up $2.5mm of the cap space the Flyers gain by dumping Briere's salary. Gus & Manning wil get almost $1mm a piece. Even if Gags signs for $1mm, that eats up the rest of the cap space. I also think they will try to sign Huskins. I'm not seeing plenty of cap space.
  8. I don't see how you can keep him for another year. The Flyers are already $3mm over next year's cap. They're more than likely going to amnesty Briere. That gets them $3.5mm below the cap with 3 RFAs to tender and probably 2 UFAs they will keep. There is no cap space to do anything else. IMHO, they have to amnesty both Briere and Bryz this off season if they are going to improve the team.
  9. @jammer2, You had the wrong year. Try this link. He still leads all AHL defenseman in scoring and hasn't played an AHL game in over 3 months. http://theahl.com/st..._id=-1&confId=0
  10. Not so sure it's bogus. I saw him several times down here. He was leading the AHL in scoring for most of the time he was in the AHL. His play is effortless. Solid defensively and able to join the rush. Flyers fans would get wood if he somehow ended up on the Flyers roster.
  11. Huh? All NHL teams play the same number of games, 48 this season!?! He's played in every one so far!
  12. And when the game ended, both teams stayed on the ice, raised their sticks, and saluted the Boston fans. Nice show of support.
  13. The NHL played their first official outdoor game (preseason) in Las Vegas in September 1991. The temp went from 85 up to 95 degrees during the game. Average temp in LA in January is between 50 & 65 degrees. It'll work as long as it doesn't get too warm. http://en.wikipedia....me_in_Las_Vegas
  14. I have a newly found respect for Shawn Thornton, the human being. Even though he is Canadian, we was singing the US National Anthem. Human decency has no nationality.
  15. Jan 13th is when he was placed on IR, one week befor the NHL season started. I assume it was right around then that he was concussed. If the injury happened earlier, the IR would have been retroactive to the day after the injury.
  16. If you count Bourdon, who hasn't played a game this year for the Flyers, then you should count Pronger in there, too. Personally, I wouldn't count either.
  17. And I'm growing. Growing tired of it.
  18. Right now, the Flyers are #25 in the league. So 6.2%.
  19. They have to climb over 4 teams to make the playoffs. I don't see that happening and none of the teams above them are going to give any charity.
  20. Here it is. Hmmm...I didn't think it was all that bad.
  21. @flyercanuck, 24 th in the league right now with 10 games remaining. If they got the win streak out of their system and go back to playing the way they have most of the season, they may drop a few spots and increase their odds in the lottery. You never know...
  22. @flyercanuck, The way they played today should renew the Top 5 Pick crusade!
  23. Wasn't he just traded to Tampa Bay earlier in the day and then placed on waivers when the Flyers picked him up?
  24. Are you saying the stats are *statistically inaccurate*? LOL I disagree. Both guys are top pair guys. Top pair players get the most ice time. Carle led the Flyers last year (without Pronger) in ice time. He was the #1 D-man last year. Carle leads the Bolts in ice time this year. The next closest player is Hedman with 47 seconds (average) per game less than Carle. That tells me Carle is the #1 D-man on the Bolts team. Yandle isn't the top D-man on his team. That distinction belongs to the law firm, Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Yandle is #2 with 2 mins 40 seconds (average) per game less than OEL. Another factor that tells me they are essentially the same player is their contracts. Only $250K. If Yandle was so much better he'd be getting paid like it.
