  1. I’m gonna buy a beer for the next ICE official I see!!
  2. id·i·ot sa·vant noun a person who has a mental or learning disability but is extremely gifted in a particular way, such as the performing of feats of memory or calculation Your assessment fits in the calculation area.
  3. Get your flame throwers ready. Contrary to a lot of opinions and the comments I’ve read, I think Nate Thompson is playing good. He is put in mostly on defensive end starts, winning face offs, and forechecking hard. He has beaten the Islanders defensemen to pucks dumped into the corners. I think he is playing within himself, not trying to do too much, and his play is benefitting the Flyers. He isn’t getting exposed. And while he isn’t an offensive juggernaut, he still has more goals than TK.
  4. This is exactly correct. From the rule book... 60.1 High-sticking - A “high stick” is one which is carried above the height of the opponent’s shoulders. Players must be in control and responsible for their stick. However, a player is permitted accidental contact on an opponent if the act is committed as a normal windup or follow through of a shooting motion, or accidental contact on the opposing center who is bent over during the course of a face-off.
  5. Big storm rolling in down here. My satellite signal just washed out. Anyone have a link for the game?
  6. Is it bad that I don't know who "The Dude" is and don't have a clue what movie he was in. Nor do I care...
  7. Surprise roster adjustment for the Flyers just announced on NBCSN. Is Oscar Lindblom going to play? EDIT: Maybe not in the lineup. But he did take warmup with the team. They said he took warmup after the Game 2 loss to the Habs and it sparked the team. Hoping for the same effect!

  9. NHL.com still shows the games scheduled. ESPN shows postponed
  10. I asked the same question in chat yesterday (not looking for a political response or opinion). If today’s games are postponed, that gives Carter Hart and the boys an extra day off instead of back-to-back games. The only issue is the schedule will get compressed somewhere else like Friday-Saturday games. And because there are other games scheduled for Friday, the ice conditions could be affected. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
  11. I thought TK had a decent game today. Hopefully, he is waking up.
  12. JVR and Hang are both in. I don't trust those pregame lineup reports.
  13. I'm teleworking so no drinking. I don't do much drinking nowadays anyway. Only beer when I do. Two laptops and the cell phone by my side and the game on TV. Hope I don't get any work assignments.
  14. Wait till you read this if you thing you’re irritated now. I posted this in another thread a while back. A retired NHL linesman told me this Leon Stickle goes around telling people that he didn’t cause the Flyers to lose the cup but instead started a dynasty. Chew on that for a while.
  15. He has more goals than the Captain, TK, Coots, and Ghost combined. I know, I know...its only 1. But still. AV must like what he sees out of Thompson. I trust AV's judgment.
  16. you didn’t like it because 62 was out. Don’t fret...he’ll be back!
  17. You must've missed what he said last week when there was a longer than usual delay after a penalty call..."Make the call and drop the damn puck" or something like that.
  18. I have no clue what the criteria is for that statistic. It could be statistically inaccurate like the +/- stat.
  19. The refs didn't think either one of the cross checks was worthy of a penalty let alone a suspension. The Myers crosscheck was more worthy of suspension than this one. Once again, the NHL discipline is based on the result instead of the action.
  20. Welcome back! You stated that like there once was consistency in officiating.
  21. Welcome back. Where/how the hell ya been?
