  1. The league asked them to kiss and make up. "The league investigated the incident and spoke to both parties involved but in the end asked that Ott and Laviolette speak to each other over the phone to hash it out, a source told ESPN.com." http://espn.go.com/dallas/nhl/story/_/id/7392735/dallas-stars-steve-ott-philadelphia-flyers-peter-laviolette-face-discipline
  2. Another player who didn't know he had a concussion until days later. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=383570
  3. I don't get it. Yandle is the same player as Carle. Two 1st rd picks & JVR is WAY WAY WAY over paying to trade Carle For Carle. If it was Carle for Yandle straight up, the only advantage would be the money saved on the cap.
  4. They're pretty slow updating that site. It still show the US game hasn't started even though it's in the 2nd period already.
  5. @blocker I remember you saying you know one of the Latvian kids. What's his name?
  6. Game isn't over yet. Look here: http://www.iihf.com/
  7. This is a better list. Unfortunately, not one Flyers prospect listed. How does that happen? http://en.wikipedia....onships_rosters
  8. I thought I found one, but it only has the Canadian kids' draft status. Look in the middle column, half way down the page. http://www.tsn.ca/world_jrs/
  9. Not to change the subject, but are there any Flyers prospects playing in the tourney?
  10. @Vincent05 Thanks. It looks like the last sentence there allows the Flyers to send them down.
  11. It also includes all waiver moves. It's buried somewhere in the CBA, but I think the only move allowed is a call up on emergency basis. Probably a moot point since the Flyers don't play again until the 27th, but Sestito can not be sent down until the freeze is over.
  12. Umm...This doesn't sound right. There's a roster freeze in effect until the 27th. Why would Homer tell the kid 4 days before he can actually make the move??? Especially after the way he's played??? Just doesn't pass the sanity check.
  13. I have to stick up for Hartnell here. He only has 39 PIMs so far this year. I'm pretty sure 25 of those are from fights. He has really cleaned up his game, only 7 minors. He's helping the team more than hurting this year.
  14. No one knew that Thomas was hurt till the season was over and he had surgery. Everybody thought he was the one hit wonder. I'm not insinuating that Bryz is hurt, just saying that maybe this is just a down year for him. I'm with you. I hope he turns it around.
  15. @flyercanuck I think he is feeling the pressure of playing in a hockey market. The last 2 teams he played for are not based in traditional hockey market cities so the pressure wasn't there. I think the pressure combined with all the other stuff going on (Winter Classic, 24/7 cameras, historic aspect of the Philly, etc.) is affecting him. Hopefully, he will adjust. Remember 3 yrs ago, Tim Thomas won the Vezina. The next year, he lost his starting job to Rask. Everyone thought Thomas was just a one hit wonder. He came back last year and won the Vezina again. My point is, maybe this is just a down time for Bryz and hopefully he will rebound to play like the world class goalie he has been touted to be.
  16. I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night! I skate with a guy that has/had a torn abdominal muscle. This is the second time he's had one. He said the first one took almost a year to heal. This time, he took about 3 months off without skating but he is still affected by it when he plays. There is a 20 yr age difference between him and JVR, so JVR should be able to heal faster. My gut feeling (no pun intended) is JVR will need surgery to fix his problem.
  17. Rumor is he is playing injured.
  18. That is an exaggeration. It's only 8 1/2 years now. LOL
  19. "The game got off to an ornery start as Vancouver's Kevin Bieksa fought Calgary's Tom Kostopoulos three seconds after the opening face-off. Kostopoulos suffered a cut near his left eye as Bieksa landed his first punch. They renewed their hostilities after fighting each other last January." Bieksa nailed him with a superman punch at the begining of the fight. He must have had some MMA training. I've seen him use that punch before.
  20. I didn't see the game (yet). From everything I've been reading, the majority was right.
  21. How long ago? I was in Anchorage from '92-'00 and Fairbanks (North Pole) from '03-'06.
  22. Depends on where you sit. $125 for my seat 4 rows from the glass. The attendence was 15,000, one of the best crowds of the year. Dallas has struggled to fill the seats even though the team is playing fairly well.
  23. I saw them throw the rats after the final buzzer when the Panthers won.
