  1. @ruxpin, This may be the 1st time I completely agree with you. I'll try to not make this a habit.
  2. @bunnyman, Ummm, I hate to be the one to break it to you...Its not the helmet!
  3. @Jesusradoran, So it will only be a couple more years before Homer can sign them to another 7 year, over 35 contract.
  4. To help out with the culture change. (Insert ninja here)
  5. That's awesome, Blocker!! Hope they all have a good time!!
  6. Most of my life I've been saying "Jesus Christ" and today I find out I should be saying "Jesus Rad".
  7. I skate twice a week. If I miss a skate, the next time out feels like I haven't skated in a month.
  8. Paul Kariya says hello. "With former linemate Teemu Selänne also entering unrestricted free agency that summer after three years with the Sharks (he decided to opt out of his final year, valued at $6.5 million), the duo agreed to reunite and sign with the same team. Together, they approached the Colorado Avalanche, having decided the team had the best chance of winning the Stanley Cup. On July 3, 2003, the Avalanche announced the signing of Kariya and Selänne to one-year contracts. In order for the team to afford both players, Kariya took an $8.8 million paycut from his $10 million salary with Anaheim the previous year, marking the highest decrease in compensation for a player in NHL history. At $1.2 million, his salary was below the NHL average, ensuring that he would have the freedom of unrestricted free agency at the end of the season.
  9. @bunnyman, Where at in Illinois? I lived in the Bellevillle area for 10 years ('82-'92). There was no indoor ice when I was there. I heard of one place that had outdoor ice when it got cold enough but that was only about 6 weeks per year. Never got to skate there. Good choice on the full cage. I use an old Oakley combo cage. I always say I'm too old to learn how to eat with no teeth! I don't have any fogging issues as long as I use the Oakley anti fog.
  10. Flyers will go on a winning streak in the last 2 weeks of the season and drop out of the top ten in the draft.
  11. @jammer2, Claude was injured and really didn't have a training camp. I think that is what he is "suffering" from.
  12. Just thinking back to when Stevens was fired and Lavi was brought in, it took about 10 games for the boys to come together. With a lackluster training camp then the coaching change, I expect the same kind of thing to happen now.
  13. Hopefully, that game will give Mason the confidence he needs to continue playing well. And hopefully it motivates the guys in front of Mason.
  14. I don't have a problem with it if he is winning games. But he's only won one. Get 15 or 20 wins under your belt before you start berating the media.
  15. I thought Sielski used the wrong word in "punish" and certainly could have asked his question differently. I agree with the essence of your statement. Berube's response was initially funny ("What, you want me to spank him?"), then he went too far. You just won your first game as a HC in the NHL. Why do you have to tell someone to get lost and call him or the question stupid? Just answer the question! I thought it was an arrogant and immature response. I don't live in the Philly area and don't get to hear the pressers or read the articles in the Philly papers. If the reporters are in fact douchenozzles as FC stated, Berube shouldn't lower himself to that level. Take the high road.
  16. Nice! What level of play? Beginner, intermediate, or advanced? Speaking from experience here...As you get older, you're going to want more or better protection. The bumps & bruises hurt more & don't heal up as fast.
  17. What do you think? Was the hit suspension worthy? Was it worthy of 3 games? http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=60&id=455148&navid=DL|NHL|home
  18. I would have liked to hear the reporter say "Sir, please calm down or I'm going to have to ask you to leave!"
  19. Thanks. The helmet has a hard plate (plastic, I assume) in the back but the rest is leather. I didn't post a picture of the Flyers wall! I did all the work myself, i.e., lighting, framing of the jerseys, ran the electric and speaker wire, etc. The white jersey is autographed (on the numbers) by the entire Miracle team.
